
Polyester Composite Mat (Reinforced polyester paving mat) have the structure of Polyester Mat + Fiberglass Scrim + Polyester Mat. The strong, fiberglass mesh embedded into the polyester mat is the key to its performance, as reinforced polyester paving mat extends the life of pavement overlays through the delay of reflective cracking. The Reinforced Polyester Paving Mat provides the highest tensile strength at elongation lower than 5%, making it the strongest, commercially available, full coverage paving mat or fabric.
The product also serves as an effective moisture barrier equal to paving fabrics and mats. The unique, non-woven, polyester matrix structure of the Reinforced Polyester Paving Mat allows asphalt binder to fully penetrate and fill voids within the fabric, limiting moisture infiltration and preventing water ingress into the granular layers of the pavement structure.

Instruction to use the polyester fiberglass paving mat ◆ Removing dirt, gravel and dust from the pavement to assure good attachment between asphalt and pavement. ◆ If the road is damaged, or have cracks, craterlet, the road must be repaired to make the surface of the road to be hard and smooth. ◆ To assure to get good result, the asphalt binder that used to attach the reinforced polyester paving mat to the road must be hot asphalt, but not emulsified asphalt. ◆ The temperature of hot asphalt should be between 163℃ till 204 ℃. ◆ When the hot asphalt covered the road, the Reinforced Polyester Paving Mat must be overlaid onto the hot asphalt before the asphalt lose it’s mobility so as to assure the mat fully soak asphalt and effectively provides a moisture barrier.
◆When install the Reinforced Polyester Paving Mat, the air temperature must be above 4 ℃.
In order to achieve optimal results, during installing Reinforced Polyester Paving Mat we must pay attention to the following points
◆Reinforced Polyester Paving Mat must be installed on the hot asphalt. We recommend the following asphalt. AC-20; PG64-22; AR8000 +, or the asphalt with penetrate rates 60-80. In extreme hot summer, we recommend to use the bitumen with high viscosity of the bitumen, such as AC-30; PG67-22; AR8000 +, or the asphalt with penetrate grade 40-60.
◆ The best ratio of asphalt is 1.1 liters / square meters paving mat, but based on the actual situation during the installation, the ratio can be between 1.0-1.3 liters / square meters. According to the different thickness of the Reinforced Polyester Paving Mat, the ratio of asphalt should be adjusted. During the asphalt transit, we do not advise to heat the asphalt above the temperature 204 ℃, because this would hinder the pre-mature of liquid asphalt
◆ Be careful to handling the Reinforced Polyester Paving Mat during the installation, the paving mat will be damaged or cause bad result if the paving mat drop down from the installing machine.
◆During the installation, if any direction forms the stripes bigger than 2.5cm, the stripes must be cut and overlaid, and the two layers of paving mat must be fully covered by asphalt so as to assure the two layers of paving mat fully soak the hot asphalt. Use roller to press the paving mat or use brush to handle the paving mat so as to clear out bubble in the paving mat to assure the paving mat be fully attached to the road. During covering the hot asphalt to the road, the width should be 4 inch more than the width of paving mat. Since the paving mat can not be curved, in the winding area of the road the paving mat can be cut into several pieces, and be installed to the road manually or mechanically.
◆For the connection of two pieces of paving mat, the two pieces of paving mat must be overlapped together. On the road direction the width of overlapped area must be at least 10.2cm, and on the cross direction, the width of overlapped area must be at least 5.1cm.
◆ When the installing machine or other vehicles driving on the paving mat, should try not or minimizing turning direction frequently and suddenly so as to avoid damaging the paving mat. Do not broadcast sand or other object on the paving mat to protect the paving mat, do not minimize the ratio of bitumen to avoid asphalts attach to the tire of the machine.
